Deploy your first app

From a GitHub repository or a folder on your computer to a live HTTPS address in a few minutes.

Before you start

  • A Rimbra account. Sign up at app.rimbra.app; the Free plan needs no card.
  • Your code in a GitHub repository, or a folder or ZIP you can upload.
  • If your app is a server, it must listen on the port in the PORT environment variable. Rimbra sets it for you.

1. Create a project

  1. 1In the dashboard, open Hosting → Projects and choose New project.
  2. 2To deploy from GitHub, choose Connect GitHub, install the Rimbra app on your account or organization, and pick the repository.
  3. 3To deploy files instead, choose Rimbra Drop and drag in a folder, a ZIP or a static site.
  4. 4Check the project name. It becomes your free address: your-project.rimbra.app.
  5. 5Choose Deploy.

2. Watch the build

Rimbra detects the framework, installs dependencies, builds the app and starts it. Every step streams into the deployment log, so you can see exactly where a build is and why it stopped if it fails.

Most apps are live in about a minute. Bigger builds with many dependencies take longer the first time and are faster after that.

3. Open your app

When the deployment shows Ready, choose Visit. Your app is served over HTTPS at your-project.rimbra.app.
