Verify a sending domain
Prove you own the domain so inboxes trust your mail and it lands outside spam.
Add your domain
- 1Open Emails → Domains and choose Add domain.
- 2Enter the domain you send from, like yourcompany.com.
- 3The domain page lists the records to add. Click a name or value to copy it.
- 4Add each record where the domain’s DNS is managed.
- 5Leave the page open or come back later. It re-checks every 20 seconds and shows Verified when DKIM is found.
The records
Use the exact values shown on your domain page. The DKIM key is unique to your domain.
| Record | Type | Name | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| DKIM | TXT | sb._domainkey | Required. Signs each email so inboxes know it is really from you |
| Return path | MX | Bounces come back to your domain | |
| Return path SPF | TXT | Removes the “via” label in Gmail | |
| DMARC | TXT | _dmarc | Recommended. Protects your domain from spoofing |
Which addresses can send
Once a domain is verified, any address at it can send, such as hello@, receipts@ or no-reply@yourcompany.com. Addresses at domains you haven’t verified are rejected.
Tips
- On Cloudflare, keep every email record on DNS only (grey cloud).
- A name can only have one SPF record. If you already have one, merge them into a single record.
- Some registrars add your domain to the name automatically. If so, enter sb._domainkey, not sb._domainkey.yourcompany.com.
