Why verification matters
Gmail, Outlook and every other inbox ask the same question about each email: is this really from who it says? A verified domain answers yes. Each message is signed with a key unique to your domain, bounces come back to you, and the “via” label disappears.
Skip it and your mail lands in spam, or is not accepted at all. That is why Rimbra only sends from domains you have verified.
The records
| Record | Type | Name | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| DKIM | TXT | sb._domainkey | Required. Signs every email |
| Return path | MX | Bounces come back to your domain | |
| Return path SPF | TXT | Removes the “via” label in Gmail | |
| DMARC | TXT | _dmarc | Recommended. Protects your domain from spoofing |
Add, copy, done
- 01
Open Emails → Domains and choose Add domain.
- 02
Click any name or value to copy it, and add each record where your DNS is managed.
- 03
Leave the page open or come back later. It re-checks every 20 seconds.
- 04
When DKIM is found, the domain shows Verified and you can send.
Tips that save an afternoon
- On Cloudflare, keep every email record on DNS only, the grey cloud.
- A name can only have one SPF record. If you already have one, merge them.
- Some registrars add your domain to the name for you. Enter sb._domainkey, not sb._domainkey.yourcompany.com.
Questions
Do I need DMARC?
It is not required to send, but it is recommended. It stops other people sending mail that pretends to be you.
How long does verification take?
As long as your DNS takes to update, usually minutes. The page checks on its own and updates when it finds the records.
Can I use a domain I bought on Rimbra?
Yes, and any domain you own elsewhere.
